RAMBAN, Sept 18: Police arrested a drug peddler along with 17 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on reliable information a team from Police Station Ramban led by HC Javad Ahmed intercepted a Mahindra pickup bearing registration number JK08L-7087, which was coming from Kashmir towards Jammu.
During checking, police team recovered 17 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Bishan Dass, son of Mulkh Raj of Ucha Pind, Ramkote, District Kathua.
A case FIR Number 326/2022 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SHO Ramban Inspector Sandeep Charak, DySP Headquarters Ramban Pardeep Singh Sen and SSP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
