SRINAGAR, Oct 3:  People’s Democratic Party (PDP) patron, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, today visited many areas of Anantnag constituency, wherein he met a large number of people and discussed with them various problems facing the area.
Mufti visited Krangsoo, Pehroo, Anchidoora, Anzullah, Donicheck, Bangdar, Mir Danter, Pethbugh, Schichen and Achabal Adda and announced grants out of his CDF for different development works including 10 lakh for development of Schichen as model village.
He was accompanied by Zonal president, Javed Ahmad Sheikh, Town president, Javed Sathoo, State youth secretary, Imran Amin and other senior party workers.
Mufti said the projects launched by the previous Government need to be carried forward to improve the level of basic amenities to the people of Anantnag town and rest of the South Kashmir. To make the town decongested, he announced that the road passing through the town from Khanabal to Janglath Mandi and onwards will be widened on the pattern of Khanabal Pahalgam Road.
He also announced expansion and beautification of bazaar leading up to Ziyarat Reshmoul Saheb, Sherbagh, Cheeni Chowk and onwards.
Expressing hope that the completion of the upgradation work of National Highway, initiated in 2003 by then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee would reduce the congestion around Khanabal and rest of the area, Mufti said there was a need to accelerate its execution.
Responding to the complaints of the people about lack of development and basic amenities, Mufti said it was not Anantnag alone that suffered from administrative paralysis, but all the areas including those represented by the ruling party leaders too had stopped growing and those represented by the opposition were specifically victimized.
The present State Government is the first Government in the history of the State that was penalized for its inability to spend plan funds in time by the Central Government, Mufti said.
