JMC conducts ‘Clean up Jammu’ sanitation drive in different wards

JAMMU, Oct 3: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today conducted “Clean up Jammu” sanitation drive in Ward Numbers 20, 42, 44 and Rail Head.
The drive was led by Kiran Wattal, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation and officers of the Corporation. The drive started from Municipal Sub Office, Gandhi Nagar and culminated with public meet at Nav Shiv Temple, sector 3, Nanak Nagar.
The team visited different areas of the Wards for making assessment of the sanitation and other services concerning the Corporation.
The Health Officer, cum-Transport Officer and Executive Engineers were instructed to maintain the area clean and hygienic besides undertaking de-silting of drains, repair of lanes etc.
During the public meet, exchange of issues confronting public and Corporation took place and it was assured that immediate action will start in respect of matters requiring urgent redressal for the convenience of citizens.
Commissioner assured that Corporation will render best possible services at the door step of the citizens and asked them to cooperate in its initiatives. Instructions for upkeep of proper street lights in wards were also issued and seizure of articles / goods and hoardings displayed unauthorizedly also took place. The team asked the residents and shopkeepers to maintain building line in the area.
The Officers accompanying the Commissioner were Joint Commission (ADM), Joint Commissioner (W), Secretary, JMC, Executive Engineers, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Health Officer, Chief Transport Officer, Chief Enforcement Officer, etc.
