4-day limb camp inaugurated at JRC Home

JAMMU, Oct 3: A 4-day free artificial Jaipur Foot Limb camp was inaugurated at Jammu Red Cross (JRC) Home for Handicapped, Udheywala here today, for on-spot fitment of artificial lower limbs for the amputees and calipers for polio victims.
Sponsored by the State Trading Corporation (STC) of India, the camp is being organized by Viklang Chhatra Trust in collaboration with JRC Home.
Technical team of Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti, Jaipur, is rendering their services for the fabrication of limb and calipers in the camp.
The camp was inaugurated by vice-chairman, Jammu Development Authority, K L Khajuria, who eulogized the efforts of the organizers and the STC in organising such camp for the benefit of people of Jammu region, who had been victims of cross border firing, land mines blasts and subversive activities of anti-national elements.
Khajuria also donated a donation of RS 51000 for the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, General Manager, STC, Vijay Bhushan, informed that STC is spending 3% of its profit on social activities and organizing artificial limb camps for the rehabilitation of the people with disabilities.
Earlier, Satya Pal Saraf, organizer of the camp, gave resume of activities undertaken by the Viklang Chhatra Trust. President, JRC Home, PC Kapoor welcomed the dignitaries whereas Joginder Chhatrapal, secretary, JRC Home, presented vote of thanks.
About 95 beneficiaries were registered on the first day of the camp (today) for the fitment of artificial limbs, calipers and other appliances.
