UDHAMPUR, Oct 3: Provincial vice president of PHE Employees Association, Som Nath has demanded immediate release of pending wages of workers and appealed the Minister concerned for an early fulfillment of various long pending genuine demands of the workers and employee of PHE Department.
Mr Som Nath said this while addressing a monthly meeting of executive committee of PHEEA district Udhampur. He said if there was any shortage of funds the pay and perks of Ministers and MLAs should be stopped first, in place of resorting to suppressive measures.
The main demands of the workers and employees pertained to; Release of pending wages; Appointment of proportionate staff to man the new water supply schemes to lessen burden of already engaged workers; Holding of DPC meeting at all level which involve no financial burden on the State Exchequer; Benefit of SRO in favour of consolidated, community participation workers who have put in more than 15 years of services but not regularized till date; Change in designation of workers as per nature of job being performed by them; Release of DA installment at the rate of 10 percent; Enhancement in the daily wage rate; and Halt to new recruitments at the cost of already serving daily rated and other workers.
