JAMMU, Sept 21: A deputation of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee today called on Commissioner cum Secretary, DMRRR in Civil Secretariat here, today under the leadership of Roshan Lal Pandita president of the Committee.
The delegation while discussing the problems of migrants said that for last three months the ration quota of migrants has not been released. They said the migrants are facing lot of trouble due to stopping of ration by the Government. The migrants are unable to purchase the ration from the market as they have no source of earning except a meager cash relief given by the Government, the delegation added.
It said the migrants are in a lot of desperation and mental agony due to denial of ration to them by the Government without any reasons.
The Commissioner, Secretary DMRRR assured the delegation that the ration will be released with days.
Later the delegation met Special Secretary, PHE and Private Secretary to Shalin Kabra and demanded water supply gap in Durga Nagar and adjoining areas be reduced. The Secretary PHE assured the delegation that they will pass on instructions to concerned officers that the construction of the tube well should be completed immediately.
The Special Secretary assured that he will personally visit the area to ascertain the supply position and inspect execution of tube well.
The other members of the delegation included Behari Lal and Avtar Krishan Raina.
