Srinagar, Sept 22: The traffic authorities in Baramulla today swung into action against the private school transport found violating norms and penalized several such vehicles apart from seizing a few.
The action was carried out under the guidance of DySP Traffic Mujahid Nazir who said that they have come out on the road after receiving several complaints from the parents.
“Few vehicles have been seized and several others have been penalized,” he said.
He said that the parents should know everything about the vehicle in which they are being ferried. “They should check whether the driver has the license and other necessary documents. It is the responsibility of the parents,” he said.
Earlier, Excelsior reported about the vehicles being used by various schools violating norms, which include ferrying the children beyond capacity and exposing them to risks.
