RAMBAN, Sept 22: Ramban Police achieved a major success by rescuing 73 bovines from the clutches of smugglers in different parts of the district.
According to police sources, teams of Police Station Ramban, Chanderkote and Banihal intercepted four vehicles bearing registration numbers JK19-8423, JK14B-8681 JK03F 4872 and JK03E3570 in their jurisdiction and on checking, found a total of 73 bovine animals loaded in the vehicles with utmost cruelty.
Sources said all these bovine animals, which were being transported to valley without any valid permission of competent authority, were rescued and in this connection, separate cases vide FIR numbers 327/2022, 330/2022, 145/2022 and 217/2022 U/S 188/269/270 IPC & 11 PCA Act, 52, 54, 56 transportation of animals rules 1978 were registered in Police Station Ramban, Chanderkote and Banihal, respectively and investigations set into motion.
The rescue operation was made by police parties under the command of Inspector Sandeep Charak (SHO Ramban), Inspector Padam Dev Singh (SHO Chanderkote) and Inspector Mohd Afzal Wani (SHO Banihal).
