JAMMU, Oct 4: Police today arrested a safaikaramchari of Priya Darshani Girl Hostel, University of Jammu and his associate in connection with a theft case.
A police spokesman said that, Dr Rajni Bala, Warden of Priya Darshani Girl Hostel, University of Jammu lodged a complaint regarding theft of pressure cookers with Police Station Gandhi Nagar on September 29.
After registering a case under FIR number 239/13 and under Section 380 RPC, police started investigation and arrested the thief and his accompliance.
The thief has been identified as Mohammad Yousaf, son of Ghulam Rasool Sheikh of Rajeev Colony, safaikaramchari of Priya Darshani Girl Hostel, University of Jammu, he said, adding that 3 pressure cooker amounting Rs 7,000 were recovered on his disclosure.
The accused sold these pressure cookers to the scrap dealer namely Raj Pandey, son of Laxman Pandey of Kalka Colony, Bawa, who was also arrested, he added.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
