NIA takes HM commander’s custody

Srinagar, Oct 4: National Investigative Agency (NIA) today took the custody of a top Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Talib Hussain Lali, who was arrested last month from North Kashmir’s Bandipora forests.
The NIA took the custody of Lali from Jammu and Kashmir police today. Lali was a close aide of Shafi Shah, the Hizb divisional commander whose custody was taken by the NIA in June this year.
NIA has sought his custody in connection with Hawala money case of 2011.  Delhi court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Lali after NIA investigators zeroed on his role.
NIA is investigating into his role in assisting the HM in funding its cadres in Jammu and Kashmir.
Lali along with his two associates were arrested after a brief encounter with 13 RR of Army and Special Operation Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police in Gujerbasti in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Talib Hussain Lali, 45, had been actively involved in militant activities in the Kashmir for the past one decade.
