JAMMU, Sept 24: Bahu Fort Police arrested a man for raping his domestic helper.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by a lady with Police Station Bahu Fort stating that a man identified as Vikas Jain, son of Thaneshwar Singh a resident of Trikuta Nagar has allegedly raped her by threatening her with sharp edged weapons. Sources said that the accused is a prominent person of the area and is associated with a political party, which is to be ascertained.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 246/2022 under sections 376, 506, 354-C, 342, 328 and 323 IPC and 3/4/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and hunt was launched to nab the alleged accused.
On getting information, a team from Police Station Bahu Fort led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abass Jafari conducted series of raids and finally arrested the alleged accused.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
