JAMMU, Sept 25: All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation, affiliated with Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shakshik Mahasangh, has raised its concerns over delay in completion of Annual Transfer Drive and promotion issues.
In a statement, Devraj Thakur- State President All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation feared that further delay in completion of ATD-2022 may lead to postponement of this year’s transfers.
“It was several years back that general transfers were last implemented. With schools closed for nearly two years owing to COVID-19, no transfers were made. In February 2022, the Government again invited applications for the general transfer and a provisional list was published in this year. The government had then said a final transfer list would be issued by April/May but it was not issued till date,” he said.
Thakur said that Masters and teachers who have spent years in outstation districts and have less than a year or two to retire have not been able to return to their home districts because the final list has not been published. “Even other Government employees get transferred, but nowhere do so many complications and complaints arise as in the case of School Lecturer, Master and Teacher transfers,” he lamented.
Thakur said that that the complications, if any can be avoided if Masters, Teachers transfers and promotions are implemented first, followed by the general transfers of all cadres in the department.
