SRINAGAR, Sept 25: The two-days North Zone-I Regional Conference on “Contemporary Judicial Developments and Strengthening Justice through Law and Technology” concluded today at SKICC here.
On the second day of conference, two technical sessions were held. In the first technical session, Justice A.P. Sahi, Director National Judicial Academy along with Justice R.C Chavan and Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, who were resource persons for the session, discussed “Overview of E-Courts Project” with reference to Phase I,II and proposed Phase III, CIS Innovations across High Courts and the recent innovations”.
The second technical session of the day involved discourses on “Emerging and Future Technology for Effective Judicial Governance” including Judicial governance vis-à-vis Artificial Intelligence and Latest Developments in Technology” by Resource Persons Justice Rajiv Shakdher and Justice Raja Vijayaraghavan V.
The Technical Sessions were followed by the Valedictory Session, which was presided by Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey in the presence of Justice A.P. Sahi, Director National Judicial Academy, Justice Rajiv Shakdher and Justice Raja Vijayaraghavan V.
The Valedictory session was also graced by Justice Pankaj Mithal, Chief Justice of High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
Justice Sindhu Sharma, Chairperson J&K Judicial Academy, Justice Rajnesh Oswal, Justice Javed Iqbal Wani, Justice Mohd. Akram Chowdhary, Justice Rahul Bharti, Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi, Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal, Justice Rajesh Sekhri, Judges of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and Judicial Officers of the six High Courts and Sanjeev Gupta, Registrar General and other officers of the Registry of High Court of J&K and Ladakh were also present on the occasion. Director, J&K Judicial Academy, Shahzad Azeem conducted the proceedings of the Valedictory session of the programme.
In his valedictory address, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey described the hosting of the conference as an opportune time when judiciary is making sincere efforts to meet the omnipresent challenges to its working with the assistance of technology. He also expressed hope that the conference will enable the stakeholders to achieve constitutional goals and the overall development of the nation. He expressed gratitude to all concerned for the smooth and successful conduct of the conference.
In his valedictory address, Justice A.P. Sahi remarked that we are final only when we are correct and not otherwise. He stressed upon the necessity to infuse the spirit of liberty and the ethos of Article 21 in our day to day working and highlighted the importance of embracing technology in our court working.
