HARIDWAR, Sept 26: A team of Patanjali led by Acharya Balkrishna mounted some unmounted, inaccessible peaks of Himalayas and discovered many rare herbs.
After returning from the Himalayas, the Patanjali team including Acharya Balkrishna and Principal of Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) Colonel Amit Bisht was given a warm welcome in an impressive function organized in the auditorium of Patanjali Vishvvidalaya.
Speaking on the occasion, Swami Ramdev said, “This tour of Himalayas was very inaccessible. It was indeed a very difficult job to climb those unmounted and inaccessible peaks of Himalayas. Several times futile efforts were made in the past to reach these peaks and the last effort was made about 42 years back in 1981, and since then, nobody dare to reach there.”
“It is a proud moment for Patanjali, which has scripted history not only reaching these unmounted snow laden peaks but also naming them on the basis of ‘Sanatan’ tradition. Above all this, Acharya Balkrishna has given his invaluable contribution in the field of health by discovering many rare herbs on these peaks,” Swami Ramdev asserted.
While speaking, Acharya Balkrishna said that this time along with discovery of rare herbs, they discovered Himalayas in Himalayas by reaching three inaccessible peaks, which has been named— Rashtrarishi, Yogrishi and Ayurvedrishi. He said the area between these peaks have been named Rishi Glacier or Rishi Bamak. “During this Vijay Yatra, we identified about 550 rare herbs and made their checklist. Soon, we will research on these herbs,” he added.
Pertinently, under the leadership of Acharya Balkrishna, this mountaineering expedition was started on December 10 jointly by Patanjali Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi and Indian Mountaineering Institute, New Delhi. The expedition team was led by Colonel Amit Bisht.
From NIM, mountaineering coach Deep Shahi and Vinod Gusaai participated in this expedition while from Patanjali Ayurved, Dr Rajesh Mishra, Dr Bhaskar Joshi and other members participated. On behalf of Indian Mountaineering Institute, Bihari Rana participated in the expedition.
