JAMMU, Sept 28: JKPCC working president Raman Bhalla today asked party cadre to be in “ready-mode” for the forthcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
While interacting with prominent persons of Rajiv Nagar in Bahu area today as his mass contact programme, Bhalla said that party is ready for assembly elections, whenever polls are held here. He said that the party will fight the polls with full strength and win with full majority and form the government in the UT.
He castigated the central Government stating that the hollow policies of Government have only resulted in increasing the sufferings of the people manifold. He said that BJP befooled the people with its hollow promises before the elections and the common people today realize that they have been totally betrayed by the party. Bhalla said the young lot has suffered a lot due to anti-youth policies adopted by the Centre.
Asserting that the people desperately want assembly elections for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, Bhalla said that Jammu has major role to play in upcoming elections by isolating the divisive forces that are bent upon destroying peaceful communal atmosphere.”The political alienation of the people is widely being felt that is why there is desperation for assembly elections for the first time unlike the past,” Bhalla added.
Senior Cong leader lashed out at the Government for the betrayal with daily wagers who were on roads, seeking justice. He said that the entire BJP leadership has promised to regularize the daily wagers but after coming to power they failed to pay them regular wages. He demanded that Government should formulate a regularization policy for all categories of daily wagers, casual, need based workers and temporary, contractual employees so that they would have a sigh of relief in this highly inflation period.
The former minister said only Congress can address the problems and issues of the people of J&K as it has a workers’ base which knows each and every concern of the common man and can help in mitigating all the prevalent problems of the masses. He appealed the people of Jammu and Kashmir to teach BJP a lesson by extending full support to Congress in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
