JAMMU, Oct 5: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today sealed a shop of Anil Kumar milk vendor at Canal road and also destroyed huge quantity of adulterated milk at Bohri, Talab Tillo.
A team of officers from JMC led by Commissioner Kiran Wattal paid surprise visit in milk shops at Canal Road and found adulterated milk which was destroyed and the shop of Anil Kumar milk vendor at Canal Road was sealed. An FIR was also lodged against the defaulters.
Besides this, the officials also seized large quantity of adulterated milk at Bohri, Talab Tillo.
Kiran Wattal was accompanied by Health Officer, Municipal Veterinary Officer and Food Safety Officers.
Meanwhile, “Clean up Jammu” sanitation drive was conduted today in Ward Numbers 36, 37 and 38.
The drive was led by Kiran Wattal, Commissioner and team of officers included Joint Commissioner (A), Secretary, Health Officer, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Executive Engineers, Compost-cum-Transport Officer, Chief Khilafwarzi Officers.
The issues related to sanitation of Wards, lifting of stray animals, removal of mulba lying on roads side, lanes/bye lanes, maintenance of street lights, repair and remodeling of drains and lanes were discussed threadbare and in informal environment inviting suggestions from the participants for improving the delivery of municipal services to the common masses.
The participants were informed that the Sanitary Inspectors has been nominated as Nodal Officials in their respective Wards, who will be responsible for all the services related to the Corporation and will act as an interface for addressing the problems of the citizens.
Commissioner asked all the residents, shopkeepers, vendors and other concerned to pay user charges to the Corporation, which will help in door to door collection of garbage from households and business establishments.
