JAMMU, Sept 30: A drug peddler has been booked under PIT NDPS Act here.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Gandhi Nagar led by SHO Inspector Pankaj Sharma under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma arrested a drug peddler, who was identified as Ashwani Kumar alias Patti, son of late Kamal Kumar of Nanak Nagar, District Jammu.
In compliance to the directions by Divisional Commissioner Jammu under Prevention of Illicit Traffic of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1988 (PIT NDPS), the detention warrant was executed and the said accused was shifted to Central Jail at Kot Bhalwal Jammu after completion of all legal formalities.
