UDHAMPUR, Oct 5: The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Reasi based Counter Insurgency Force distributed clothing to Gujjar, Bakerwals and local populace of Gulabgarh Bowl to help the inhabitants of this remote and inaccessible area to combat cold during winters, at Bagga.
The distribution ceremony, which was carried out at Army Posts in forward area on higher reaches of Pir Panjal mountains, was attended by a number of local Panchayat members of the area. Sleeping bags and blankets were distributed to the poor and needy families to help them sustain the biting cold weather.
The Army has been providing humanitarian assistance to the locals and assisting the local administration in their day to day functioning.
In addition to distribution of warm clothing, Army has been providing medical assistance, distribution of medicines and all other possible assistance to overcome the vagaries of nature. The Civil Administration and locals welcomed the initiative and appreciated the effort of Army towards development of the region.
