MENDHAR, Oct 1: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Mendhar, Jangeer Khan has issued order stating that action will be taken against those spreading rumours/ fake news on social media.
Official sources said that some objectionable material is being uploaded continuously by some fake media portals on the internet, which works to spread hatred in the society. SDM Mendhar while taking serious note of it, issued an order stating that whosoever is on any media portal or on social media, strict action will be taken against anyone who posts such material on social media platform.
SDM said that such videos are being circulated on social media in which people are using abusive language towards each other. “ I have issued this order because those who are self-styled journalists are uploading videos, fake news on their portals on Facebook,YouTube and others platforms.”
“ I warn such people against any such act. They should verify/ investigate and then upload any news content. The same person will be responsible for the content if found fake and objectionable,” the SDM said.
