Bakery shop gutted in midnight blaze

POONCH, Oct 1: A bakery shop gutted in a major fire incident during last mid night at Aalapir Mohalla in Mandi town of Poonch district.
Official sources said that during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, at about 11:30 pm, a bakery shop caught fire and material in it turned into ashes within no time. They said that Fire and Emergency Services, Police, BSF, Army and locals reached the spot soon after receiving information and extinguished the fire but the material in the shop was completely burnt, fortunately cylinders in the shop were not blasted.
“As per the initial enquiry, the reason of fire could not be ascertained but people suspect electric short circuit behind the incident”, they added.
Station House Officer, Mukhtar Ali said that Police has taken cognizance and a report in this regard has been entered in Police Station Mandi. Loss of property was being assessed.
