JAMMU, Oct 9: Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti was celebrated today at Bharatiya Janata Party headquarter, here today.
J&K BJP General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul was the chief speaker in the programme organized by BJP SC Morcha led by its President Prof. Gharu Ram Bhagat.
J&K BJP Vice-President Yudhvir Sethi, General Secretary Dr. Devinder Manyal, Former MLA Akhnoor Rajeev Sharma, All Morcha Incharge Munish Sharma, Shailja Gupta General Secretary Rakesh Sangral, Program Incharge Adarsh Jathiar, Ashwani Charak, Hans Raj Loria, Vijay Anand Gill and many others participated in the programme with great enthusiasm.
While paying tributes to the Maharishi Valmiki, Ashok Koul lauded the role played by Maharishi, the creator of “Ramayana” in the society. He said that the role played by the great saint is unparalleled in the history and culture of Bharat. He stressed his role that led to the upliftment and unification of the whole society bringing all sections of the society. He said that the vision of “Ram Rajya” owes a great deal to the great saint and prompted all to follow his works by heart.
Yudhvir Sethi said that the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always followed the path of great saints to work for the welfare of the society, nation, and the whole world.
Dr. Devinder Manyal spoke in detail about the life of Maharishi Valmiki saying that his works will always enlighten the human race for thousands of years to come.
Prof. Gharu Ram, remembering the role of Maharishi said that BJP SC Morcha will keep working to uplift the downtrodden in society.
At the end of the programme, Ashok Koul felicitated all invitees and heads of Valmiki Samaj of different places of Jammu and Kashmir by presenting a Photo of Rishi Maharaj ji.
