20 members raise public importance issues during Zero Hour

SRINAGAR, Oct 7: As many as 20 members participated in the Zero Hour in Legislative Council today and raised various issues of public importance.
Khalid Najeeb Suhrawardy demanded to start PG classes in various subjects in Degree College Doda whereas Syed Naeem Akhtar Indrabi and Jehangir Hussain Mir called for transfer of lecturers having mature stay in Ladakh and back to their respective places before the onset of winter. He also sought deployment of a team of veterinary doctors to check reported spread of disease among cattle at Kani Dasar in Charar-i-Sharief constituency.
Naresh Kumar Gupta demanded construction of Indoor Stadium in P.T. College, Bhaderwah and Sports infrastructure in other schools, whereas Ali Mohammad Dar demanded inclusion of some far-flung areas of Tehsil Chadoora in Backward area list.
Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri sought directions of the Government to Public Service Commission for accepting applications of M. Sc Computer degree holders for the selection to the posts of Assistant Directors.
Abdul Majid Bhat alleged that electricity fee is being demanded from the consumers of Kulgam at exorbitant rates, whereas Ajat Shatru Singh demanded adequate measures to safeguard and promote heritage sites in Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. Shahnaz Ganai complained of poor BSNL mobile and landline connectivity in the state particularly in Poonch and Rajouri districts and sought improvement in the quality of BSNL service across the State. Nurboo Gialchan demanded setting up of examination centres at Kargil and Leh districts by the SSRB, where as B. R. Kundal demanded operationalization of shallow and deep bore wells for providing drinking water facility to the people living in plain areas of Jammu.
Subash Chander Gupta demanded adequate measures to check spread of dengue disease in Kathua and Samba districts.
Ghulam Qadir Pradesi sought to make good use of Nursing Home, Gupkar for providing medical treatment to the people.
Syed Rafiq Ahmad Shah demanded issuance of gun licenses to the members of Pahari and Gujjar community to counter increasing attacks by the wild animals in Kupwara.
Syed Asgar Ali demanded critical care ambulances between Batote-Kishtwar to meet any exigency, adding that the area being accident prone needs special healthcare facilities.
Aga Syed Rizvi raised the issue of forcible occupation of about 1.11 lakh kanals of land at Kargil by the Army and sought its vacation or rent payment.
Ghulam Nabi Monga called for speedy completion of 6-lanning of Srinagar-Baramulla road in North Kashmir to check frequent traffic jams.
Master Noor Hussain raised the issue of shortage of Urdu teaching staff in schools whereas Mohammad Ashraf Mir demanded to make the PHC at Fiqir Gujri fully operational.
