JAMMU, Oct 10:  Rattian village of Block Miran Sahib has been declared as ‘Sampoorn Bima Gram’ where each house has at least one or other postal insurance policy.
It was declared by Col Vinod Kumar, Postmaster General Jammu Region along with Dr Ankush Bhagat SSPOs Jammu during a function organised to celebrate ‘National Postal Week’ as part of ‘Vittiya Sashaktikaran Diwas’, today.
On this day, the postal department is making all efforts to spread awareness about financial inclusion/empowerment among people of India.
It is the first time in Central Jammu Sub-division, Rattian village is declared as the Sampoorn Bima Gram under Rattian Branch Post Office. This village has around 1000 houses but most of them were covered by postal insurance during the Mela. During the event, Sarpanch Mohd Sadiq and Panch Sunil Verma were also present during the Mela.
Col Vinod Kumar explained about the various postal services available at their doorstep during the function and also made the public aware about the CSC services.
Dr Ankush Bhagat also spoke about other departmental schemes and requested the gathering to avail maximum benefits of the Government schemes and spread information of RD, TD, MIS and other saving schemes of the postal department. The event ended with a resolution that more and more villagers in Jammu division will be covered under RPLI.
