Dogri Play ‘Bawa Jitto’ outshines in Navratra Festival

KATRA, Oct 7:  Internationally acclaimed Dogri play ‘Bawa Jitto’ directed by Balwant Thakur and written by Prof Ram Nath Shastri outshined in the ongoing Natratra Festival-2013, Katra where the second show of the play was staged here today at the jam-packed Auditorium of Spiritual Growth Centre.
Dr MK Bhandari, Additional CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, was the chief guest whereas Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, DDC, Reasi presided over the function.
The play Bawa Jitto based on the 15th century story of Bawa Jitto portrays the age-old saga of exploitation of landless farmers by landlords.
Arvind Anand acted as Bawa Jitto, Renu Sharma played the role of Jojan, Sanchita Dubey as Bua Gauri while Vijay Bhatt acted as Sarpanch, Sanjeev Gupta as Malli, Neeraj Kant as Mehta, Rahul Singh as Isso, Pawan Verma as Rullo and Sajra Qadir as Jeuni.
The traditional Karkan was sung by Girdhari Lal and Harbans Lal. Others who acted in the play were Mohd Yaseen, Uplaksh Singh Kotwal, Ashwani Bali, Susheel Raina, Ankush Lakhnotra, Juhi Singh, Mahikshit Singh Sambyal, Bhupesh Malhotra, Syed Mudassir Ali, Sachin Saini, Anita Dhar, Vineet Sharma, Shivam Manhas, Pankaj Verma and Shekhar Sharma.
The lights were designed and executed by Gaurav Jamwal.
