POONCH, Oct 11: One person was killed in accident after a shooting stone hit a truck near Panar area on Mughal road in Poonch today.
Official sources said that a truck bearing registration number UP32MV 1224 loaded with apples was on its way from Kashmir to Uttar Pradesh when reached near Panar bridge, a shooting stone hits on it, after which one person died on the spot, while another was injured.
Deceased was identified as Tofeeq Ahmed (36), son of Qurban Ali and injured as Ashwani Kumar (32), son of Vijay Kumar residents of Sitapur, UP.
A senior Police Officer said that both the dead body and injured were taken to SDH Surankote, where injured is under treatment.
“Matter has been entered in Police Station Surankote, and the dead body will be handed over to family after legal formalities”, he added.
