Restoration of old pension scheme demanded

UDHAMPUR, Oct 14: All India Pension Restoration United Front and JK Teachers Association have demanded scrapping of the New Pension Scheme and restoration of Old Pension Scheme.
Addressed a press conference at Udhampur, National convenor of All India Pension Restoration United Front and UT President of JK Teachers Association Bhupinder Singh said that New Pension Scheme mars the rights of Government employees.
“Pensionary benefits are the only hope for the employees when they retire from the Government job and are prone to face abandonment, ailments etc,’ he said and added that the scrapping of old pension scheme was against the interests of the employees.
Singh appealed Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of J&K to consider the genuine demand of OPS of teachers, employees and officers of UT J&K appointed after January 1, 2010 and restore old pension scheme in favour of these employees.
UT Special Secretary JKTA Kuldeep Singh and District Vice President JKTA Pardeep Sharma were also present in the press conference.
