SAMBA, Oct 14: Police here today under the supervision of SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan worked out a theft case registered at Police Station Samba and arrested the accused and recovered the stolen vehicle.
A handout of police department stated that on September 21, 2022, a written complaint was lodged at Police Post Mansar by one Romi Kumar son of Ramesh Kumar resident of Mansar, Tehsil Majalta, District Udhampur regarding theft of his Maruti 800 car bearing number JK02L/0562.
Acting over the complaint, an FIR with number 237/2022 U/S 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
During investigation, a Police team of Police Station Samba and Police Post Mansar led by SHO Samba, Inspector Deepak Jasrotia assisted by I/C PP Mansar, PSI Nirmal Singh under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Samba, Mohd. Usman developed some lead and succeeded in the arrest of a suspect Latief Mohd son of Shamas Din resident of village Dhalpar, Tehsil and District Udhampur.
On disclosure of the accused, the stolen vehicle was recovered and investigation in the case was going on.
