JAMMU, Oct 8: The 2-day pre-recruitment personality development workshop for MBA-International Business (MBA-IB) students concluded today at the International Centre for Cross- Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR and HRM), University of Jammu.
The workshop was conducted by Manjot K S Gill, Director and Chief Mentor, MindBridge Asia, who is a motivational speaker and NLP Master Practitioner. The workshop aimed at enabling the students to work on themselves before the onset of the recruitment drive for final placements. With primary focus on preparing students for professional exposure, corporate interactions as well as personality development, the workshop trained the students to explore themselves in the direction of enhancing their employability skills.
The opening session was chaired by Prof B C Sharma, Dean Students Placement, JU, who discussed the significance of conducting such workshops to augment the performance levels of students in the corporate world. He emphasized upon the need to train students in the context of interpersonal skills and corporate know how to face the challenges of the job market.
The workshop prepared the students in various domains like CV creation along contemporary lines. The workshop also focused on development of the interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Students received intensive training in the art of handling group discussions and its intricacies along with effectively getting through the personal interviews during the process of recruitment.
The workshop integrated theoretical understanding along with practical demonstrations through simulations, management games and mock exercises for internalizing the learning processes.
The concluding session of the workshop was jointly chaired by Professor B C Sharma, Dean Students Placement, JU, and Professor Neelu Rohmetra, Director International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR and HRM).
In her concluding remarks Professor Neelu Rohmetra said that such sessions build on the positive interface potential and thus gear up learning through structured mode. She said that such activities instill confident and smart behaviours, much needed for professional outlook.
Dr Pallvi Arora, Dr Ridhi Sharma, Dr Shafqat Ajaz and Neha Gupta, faculty members at ICccR & HRM coordinated the workshop.
