ANTF nabs 2 drug peddlers with 17.5 kg charas

JAMMU, Oct 16: Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) Jammu today arrested two interstate drug peddlers and recovered huge quantity of contraband substance worth lakhs of rupees from their possession.
“On specific information that one Creta car bearing registration number HR29AV-3483 driven by Amit Kumar son of Ram Kumar along with his associate namely Ombir son of Balraj, both residents of Gorar (tehsil Kharkhoda, district Sonipat, Haryana) carrying huge quantity of charas are going from Kashmir to out of J&K via Jammu, a case FIR number 14/2022 u/s 8/20/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu,” police sources said.
Accordingly, sources said an ANTF team immediately swung into action, laid a naka near NHW Bagh-e-Bahu Morh (Jammu) and stopped the car. During search, 17.5 kg of charas was recovered from the Car. The accused persons were arrested in the instant case and the Car used in the commission of crime was seized.
Sources said Anti-Narcotics Task Force is investigating forward and backward links of this racket. They said preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested drug peddlers were going to sell the same contraband among the youth and other drug peddlers at Mumbai (Maharashtra).
The operation was conducted under the supervision of SSP ANTF Vinay Sharma.
