RAJOURI, Oct 8: Family members, relatives and people of Kheora area today held strong protest demonstration along with the dead body of a 7-year-old boy, who went missing after returning from his school on Monday.
The deceased’s body, wore multiple torture marks and was found packed in a plastic bag in an under-construction house in Bela Colony of Rajouri town this afternoon. The house owner, Abdul Qayoom when returned from his village (Tabkassi) to his under construction house in Rajouri, found a plastic bag lying in the corner of a room this afternoon.
He was shocked to see the dead body of a minor boy lying in it. He ran away and informed locals of the area about it. The neighbours rushed there and later informed Rajouri Police Station about the matter.
The Police party led by SHO reached the spot and after spot inspection, shifted the body to District Hospital Rajouri at around 2.30 pm. Boy’s hands were tied with a rope and there was a rope-noose around his neck. The body also wore some torture marks.
In the meantime, the family members of the missing boy, after coming to know about the matter also reached the hospital and identified the body. The deceased was identified as Salik Mansoor (7), son of Qazi Mansoor ( Patwari), resident of Shahdara Sharief and presently residing Danshabad Colony in Kheora area of Rajouri town.
He had gone missing after returning from Valley View, School and the family was searching for him since yesterday afternoon. The neighbours, relatives and other locals also gathered there after coming to know about the incident. They stressed for constitution of Medical Board for conducting postmortem.
As the Hospital authorities and District Administration could not take a decision even after the wait of nearly two hours of incident, the relatives and locals took away the dead body of the boy and sat at Gujjar Mandi Chowk on protest dharna. They started raising slogans against Police, District and Hospital Administration. They demanded that accused involved in the murder of the minor boy be arrested.
Later, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri F C Bhagat and SP, Mubassar Latiffi reached the Chowk and gave assurance to the agitating people to constitute a Medical Board for conduct of autopsy and set up Special Investigation Team (SIT) for the probe. After about one and half hour’s protest, the people then lifted dharna and shifted the body for postmortem to hospital. After postmortem, the body was taken to the home village of the deceased at Shahdara Sharief for burial which will be performed tomorrow.
