KATHUA, Oct 17: A young woman was crushed to death while her husband was injured in a road accident at Hatli Morh on National Highway here.
Both the victims were travelling on a motorcycle with number PB06BA-4634 when a speedy truck hit them from rear side and escaped.
The woman fell down on road and the truck crushed her leaving her dead.
Her husband was injured and was shifted to GMC Kathua for treatment.
The injured was identified as Sat Pal son of Bachiter Ram resident of Ghiar, Hiranagar.
The deceased was identified as Rajni Devi wife of Sat Pal of Ghiar.
The truck driver along with the vehicle escaped from the site leaving the victims in a pool of blood.
After post-mortem the police handed over the body of the deceased lady to her family members for last rites.
Kathua Police has registered a case under Sections 279, 337, 304-A and started manhunt to nab the erring driver.
