DC chairs review meeting on infant mortality

Kargil, Oct 17: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve today chaired a review meeting regarding infant mortality in the district with all concerned heads at his office chamber.
Chief Medical Officer, Kargil Dr Munawwar Hussain Wazir, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kargil Dr Liyaqat Ali, Deputy CMO, DIO, Paediatrician, Gynaecologist, all BMOs and officials of District Planning and Monitoring Unit (DPMU) attended the meeting.
A detailed discussion regarding infant deaths and its causes in the district were held and suggestions were given about its prevention.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to work hard to remove the preventable causes of infant deaths in the district.
DC Santosh directed the concerned officers for intense campaign regarding infant deaths and suggested to use social media as a medium to spread the information for the general public.
The Deputy Commissioner further directed to involve ICDS in such campaigns. During the meeting, the DC Santosh assured to take up the issue of manpower with the UT Administration.
