KVK Samba organizes programme for farmers

SAMBA, Oct 17: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Samba today organized live telecast of PM-Kisan Samman Sammelan inaugurated by the Prime Minister (PM) and Agri-Startup conclave at New Dehli under the dynamic leadership of Prof JP Sharma (Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu) and the direct supervision of Dr SK Gupta (Director Extension, SKUAST-Jammu).
Chairman DDC Samba Keshav Dutt Sharma was the chief guest during the programme, which was attended by more than 200 farmers from different villages of district Samba. Earlier, the programme was started with the welcome address presented by of Prof Sanjay Khajuria, Chief Scientist & Head KVK Samba.
The PM-Kisan Samman Sammelan and Agri-Startup conclave was witnessed live by more than 200 farmers at KVK Samba which was inaugurated today by PM Narendra Modi at 11:30 am at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in New Delhi.
During the live streaming of the programme, the PM also inaugurated 600 Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samruddhi Kendras (PMKSK) under the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilisers. Furthermore, the PM also launched Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Urvarak Pariyojana – One Nation One Fertilizer. During the event, the PM also released the 12th instalment amount of Rs. 16,000 crores under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) through Direct Benefit Transfer.
The PM also inaugurated the Agri Startup Conclave and Exhibition. More than 1 crore farmers from various institutions attended the event virtually. The programme aims at bringing together farmers from across the country for the Kisan Sammelan alongside innovators & agri-entrepreneurs for the startup exhibition at the Conclave.
Addressing the gathering, the DDC Chairman promised every type of help to the KVK Samba as and when required. He further elaborated that Kisan Sammelan is a means to make the lives of farmers easier, boost their capability and promote advanced agricultural techniques.
The programme was also attended by the Dr Neerja Sharma, Dr Saurav Gupta, Dr Amit Mahajan, Dr Shalini, Bharat Bhushan and Tejinder Singh.
