JAMMU, Oct 17: Zeeshan Rana, additional spokesperson Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), has slammed the BJP and its Govt at the Centre for the failure to fulfil its promise made to the people of J&K regarding transforming this Union Territory into ‘Naya Jammu and Kashmir’.
Addressing media persons here today, the NC leader strongly condemned the ruling Government at the Centre and the J&K administration for not providing a safe and secure atmosphere to the people working in Kashmir valley. “It is the complete failure of those who were boasting of containing the terrorism sometime back,” he said.
He said that the terrorists have unleashed the reign of terror and the Government is doing nothing to stop the unabated killing spree in the valley which is matter of concern.
He stated that while the Govt at the Centre as well as the Union Territory has been parroting the claims of unprecedented development in J&K, the fact remains that the so-called development has probably been confined just to papers as no development is visible on ground.
“It is quite shameful for the Govt to make such tall claims when the reality on ground is that the people in every nook and corner of Jammu and Kashmir are decrying the failure of Govt even to provide the minimum basic amenities essential for survival,” Rana said.
Zeeshan Rana said that the Union Territory is presently passing through a critical phase in absence of any representative Govt in place that could feel the real pulse and problems of the people. He said that unemployment is at its peak today and what could be more unfortunate than the fact that instead of creating new job avenues for youth the Government is busy in raising more revenue by providing beer and other like beverages at provision stores.
He said that the youth today feel highly frustrated on seeing an absolutely bleak future in front of them.
