It is an admitted fact that one of the noblest humanitarian works is undertaken by the institution of the Red Cross. We remember that until a few years back, there used to be a lot of activities undertaken by the Red Cross and holding of melas primarily to collect money, donations etc; to help humanitarian cause in the strife torn world especially the needy, the poor, the sick and sufferers of natural calamities.
School children used to participate in organising activities related to the Red Cross by selling postal stamp sized flags, coupons, tickets etc to organize lucky draws and prizes. Of late, the activities related to this noble cause have not picked up commensurate with the requirements. We should see to it especially at schools and colleges, that Red Cross which is not less than a movement world wide, is popularized and strengthened so that ultimately the needy and the one in trouble get helped out.
