SUCHETGARH (Jammu), Oct 18: AAP leader and DDC Member, Taranjit Singh Tony alleged that the Government of J&K is playing in the hands of liquor, mining and contractor mafias as the common man is suffering on several counts but there is no one to listen to his plight.
Tony was addressing a gathering after inaugurating blacktopping work of road from Kotli Maffi to Beaspur Chowk. “The people of the area craved for 40 years to get this work accomplished whereas there are several other important road projects which are hanging in balance only because of the Government’s phlegmatic attitude,” he said.
He said that the important projects which need Government’s immediate focus include construction of road at zero line, 18 Km road stretch along the Ditch-cum-Bandh from Village Sher e Chak Talarh to Deriyan Badal Brahmana along the border and others which are awaiting up-gradation for the last many decades.
He appealed to the concerned Commissioner Secretary to give due care to the pending edifice in the area and help people to live a convenient life.
Tony said that priorities of the Government in J&K are quite intriguing because at a time when the people are struggling with inflation, joblessness and terrorism, the Government is offering them liquor on grocery stores. This is a cruel joke with the people and highest level of apathy of the people running the Government, he added.
“The contractors and the mining mafias are also ruling the roost with no succour for the common man as costs of building material has crossed all the limits,” he added.
Tony said that he will leave no stone unturned to provide basic edifice to the people of the constituency but the matter of fact is that the people sitting at helm whether in J&K or Centre are dancing on the tunes of rich and powerful with nothing in offing for the needy class.
Sarpanch Manjeet Kour, Sarpanch Rashpal Singh Gill, AAP leader Mandeep Choudhary and Taranjit Singh were also present.
