GMC Jammu organises talk on Osteoporosis among students

JAMMU, Oct 18 : In order to create awareness about osteoporosis amongst the MBBS students the Department of Orthopedics GMC, Jammu orhanised an awareness talk & BMD assessment camp in the Boys Hostel of GMC, Jammu. The camp was inaugurated by Principal & Dean Dr.Shadhi Sudhan Sharma. She said that the students are the future doctors & it is very important for them to be healthy so that they can take care of the health of the Public. She added that in the Post COVID era, sports activities shall be regular feature in the College and advised the students to become ambassadors of spreading awareness about regular health checkups & the ill affects of the menace of drug abuse in the community. Dr. Bias Dev delivered a talk on oteoporosis and importance of regular health checks in all age groups. Dr. Sanjeev Gupta HoD orthopedics was the Chief organiser of the camp. The camp was attended by Warden Dr. Rakesh Behal, Faculty Members & Staff. About 300 MBBS students & staff members were tested in the camp.
