BCC seeks implementation of 73rd Amendment

Bishnah, Oct 9: A special meeting of Numberdars, Chowkidars, Sarpanchs, Panchs and other prominent leaders of Bishnah constituency was held here to discuss various issues regarding the problems being faced by the public.
It was stressed upon the Government to implement the promises made with the Numberdars and Chowkidars by the previous Government for enhancement of remuneration and providing other facilities to them.
In another resolution, it was demanded to implement the provisions of 73rd Amendment of Indian Constitution about the Panchayati Raj System prevailing in other parts of the country.
It was also resolved that a State level conference of Numberdars and Chowkidars be organized in the month of November, 2013 at Dogra Hall, Jammu.
The State Government was requested to take immediate necessary steps to maintain the proper supply of electricity, construct and repair roads and lanes which are in dilapidated condition in whole of Bishnah constituency.
The main highlight of the programme was the joining of many persons alongwith youth in the Congress Party leaving the other political parties led by Mehar Singh and Tarsem Lal under the leadership of Gulchain Singh Charak.
