Srinagar, Oct 9: Two sisters died, while six other members of a family are battling for life after taking dinner on Tuesday night at their home on the outskirts of North Kashmir’s Bandipora town.
A Police spokesman said 8 family members of Ghulam Mohammad Lone, of Mangnipora in Bandipora were shifted to a hospital in unconscious state.
Nine-year-old Meena and her sister Gulshan died at the hospital while the others were shifted to SMHS hospital in Srinagar where they are battling for their lives.
“The family is believed to have consumed some suspicious substance. We have collected all the eatable items from the house of Ghulam Mohammad including all that was stored in kitchen and initiated investigations in the tragic incident,” the spokesman said.
