RAJOURI, Oct 21: In an accidental fire incident, a couple received serious burn injuries at their rented accommodation at Narian village in the late evening hours on Thursday in Rajouri district.
The couple has been identified as Imtiaz (30), son of Mohd Javed and Afsana Kousar (26), residents of village Marchola in Sunderbani tehsil and presently residing at Narian in a rented accommodation.
Eyewitnesses said that Afsana was preparing dinner. Reportedly their daughter entered the kitchen and while picking up an item, a bottle-carrying patrol accidentally fell on the LPG stove and it caught fire.
Afsana received more than 60% burn injuries and Imtiaz while attempting to douse the fire and save Afsana, also received burn injuries on his hands and arms.
Both were rushed to the sub-district hospital at Nowshera. Doctors provided them initial necessary treatment and later referred the couple to Government Medical College at Jammu for specialised treatment.
