RAJOURI, Oct 22: A girl Mehvish Kouser, 10, daughter of Mohd. Kabir residents of Begonara in Thanna Mandi here today got injured by electric shock from 400 KV line of a tower.
She was shifted to PHC Thanna Mandi for treatment from where she was referred to GMC Rajouri.
The incident triggered protest and the locals claimed that they have raised the demand of shifting transmission line from residential areas but no one paid any heed leaving them to suffer.
They further said that a number of such incidents have been reported in the area earlier too.
The protest was led by Rayaz Ahmed Khan who claimed that the towers are not maintained properly.
The protesters appealed J&K LG and DC Rajouri to look into the matter.
