UDHAMPUR, Oct 23: A special drive on the eve of Deepawali was taken out in Udhampur town by the Food Safety team along with district administration against adulteration of food products, sweets and milk products.
The inspection team comprising Naib Tehsildar Udhampur Shyam Singh and Food Safety Officer (FSO) Udhampur Town Pervaiz Ahmed randomly checked many shops including that of bakery, sweets, confectionary, fast food, etc in the Udhampur town to ensure that the pure, quality and fresh food products are made available to the consumers.
The team compounded the erring shopkeepers and realized fine to the tune of Rs 25,100 from them. The inspecting team also sensitized the owners and employees of food establishments about cleanliness and maintaining proper hygiene in their establishments.
