MAM College organizes alumni meet ‘Malati – 2022’

JAMMU, Oct 28: Maulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu organized alumni meet ‘Malati- 2022’ on the college campus, here today.
About 120 alumni from varied fields such as Academia, Civil Services, Industry amongst others graced the event and shared their insight and suggestion regarding the upliftment and welfare of the college.
Prominent alumni included Gulchain Singh Charak, former Education Minister; B R Sharma, former Chief Secretary; Vivek Gupta, DIG Jammu; Sumant Bhasin Industrialist; Satvir Gupta, IPS retired; Ranjeet Kalra, member J&K Govt Sports Council; S M Jangral, retired SP; Bharat Sharma, SP Securities Jammu; Kiran Kumar, IG NSS Award Winner & National Youth Award Winner. They shared their nostalgic experience regarding college life and offered their whole hearted support to the college management for the development of the college.
A documentary highlighting achievements of various wings of the college was also showcased to the audience.
Special secretary Higher Education, UT of Jammu & Kashmir, Rakesh Kumar Badyal was the special guest on the occasion.
Dr Surinder Sharma, Principal of the college highlighted the developmental works being carried out in MAM college and the various meritorious achievements of the students. He also briefed about NAAC accreditation process of the Institution.
Dr Vishal Sharma, Coordinator IQAC of the college gave a brief profile of the IQAC and also talked about the forthcoming NAAC visit to the college. He proposed for the constitution of the Alumni Association.
Prof Neeraj Sharma, Coordinator IQAC apprised the alumni about the various measures taken by the department for welfare of the students.
Guard of Honor to the eminent Alumni was given by the NCC cadets of the college under the guidance of Dr Karan Singh. One of Alumni, Sumant Bhasin also showed his interest to start a Trophy for the best NCC Units of JK & L, NCC Directorate in the memory of his father Late Bdg N D Bhasin.
Hamza and Reema, students of the Music Department enthralled the audience with their musical performance. Nitasha, Sarah, Navi, Badal compeered the proceedings of the programme.
Dr Banpreet Kaur, Associate Professor of English, gave the formal vote of thanks. All the faculty members of the college were also present on the occasion.
