1 dies, 2 hurt in tractor accidents

RAJOURI/POONCH, Oct 29: One person was killed while two injured in two separate tractor accidents in Rajouri and Poonch area today.
Official sources said that the driver died in a tractor accident on Saturday morning in Dalogra area of Rajouri on main Rajouri-Jammu highway.
The police said tractor driver, Suraj Prakash, a resident of Nandani area of Nowshera was going towards Nowshera on a tractor which suddenly skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Dalogda area, casing serious injuries to the driver.
Local people with the help of police removed the driver from the gorge and took him to GMC Rajouri where doctors declared him as brought dead. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Another report from Poonch said that two persons were critically injured in tractor accident at Padi Bazar in Mandi area of Poonch district today.
Official sources said that the tractor trolley fell into a gorge, early in the morning after which locals and nearby BSF unit jawans, shifted two injured persons to Sub District Hospital, Mandi.
Dr Sikander at SDH Mandi said that both were having serious injuries and after giving preliminary treatment, they were shifted to District Hospital, Poonch, from where they were further referred to GMC Rajouri.
Injured were identified as Raveel Ahmed, son of Mohd Akber Khan and Irshad Ahmed, son of Mohd Tariq Khan, residents of Marhote in Baila area.
Station House Officer, Mandi inspector Mukhtar Ali said that a case vide FIR number 128/2022 under sections 279, 337A has been registered at Police Station Mandi and investigation taken up.
