Passengers escape miraculously as tempo traveller catches fire

JAMMU, Oct 30: Around dozen of passengers escaped miraculously after a tempo traveller they were travelling caught fire near Kappa Galla area on Jammu-Poonch highway.
As per police sources, a tempo traveller bearing registration number JK12-8584 on its way to Rajouri from Jammu caught fire due to some technical glitch near Kappa Galla area on Jammu-Poonch highway today morning. The vehicle was being driven by Chaman Lal Sharma, son of Som Raj Sharma of Nowshera District Rajouri.
After getting information, a team from Police Post Chowki Choura led by PSI Pankaj Katoch rushed to the spot and informed the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
Fire fighters along with tenders rushed to the spot and doused the flames.
No injury or casualty has been reported in the incident, while the exact loss could not be ascertained yet.
Chowki Choura Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
Meanwhile, due to the incident, traffic on the highway was disrupted for an hour.
