RAJOURI, Oct 30: The dead body of a woman was found in a local `Kool’ under suspicious circumstances in Broh area of Kalakote in Rajouri district today.
The deceased has been identified as Usha devi (23), wife of Kuldip Singh, resident of Broh village. The parents of the woman have however, alleged that she has been murdered by her in-laws’ family. They demanded fair investigation into the case.
Official sources said that police at Kalakote received information that the body of 23-year-old Usha Devi, resident of Broh, was lying in a Kool. The police party reached the spot and took the body in possession and sent it to the Government hospital Kalakote where doctors conducted its post-mortem.
The parents of the girl accused the in-laws of torturing and harassing her and said that they used to beat her earlier also. The family members said that it was her in-laws who killed her and threw the body in the drain and efforts are being made to make this murder case as suicide or natural death. They said the deceased was married two and a half years ago and she also has a one year-old child. The Police registered a case under Section 174 CrPC and started investigation.
