55th AGM of IEI held

JAMMU, Oct 31: The 55th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of The Institution of Engineers (India), Jammu Local Centre was held at Institutional Complex, Sector 3, Channi Himmat, here today.
It was presided over by Dr. Sanjay Khar, Chairman of Jammu Local Centre. A large number of corporate members from all disciplines of engineering attended the AGM.
CP Sharma, Secretary, while welcoming the members, presented the annual report for the year 2021-2022 and highlighted the activities of the Jammu Local Centre.
Prof (Dr) Bhawna Sharma took over as the new Chairperson and Sachin Tickoo as new Secretary for the session 2022-2023 and 2023-2024. The results of elections to the Committee of Jammu Local Centre for the Sessions 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 were announced by BB Gupta, Convener BOS and Past Chairman of IEI, Jammu Local Centre.
The committee for the session 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 comprised of Prof (Dr) Bhawna Sharma, Chairperson, Sachin Tickoo, Secretary, Dr Sanjay Khar, Past Chairman, CP Sharma, Past Honorary Secretary, Jatinder Kr Sharma, PK Nanda, Rabinder Shekher, Sudhir Sethi, Anil Verma, Samir Sharma, Nitin Mahajan, Avneet Kr Gupta, Mohinder Singh, Ajay Sharma and Jatinder Singh Kapoor.
Dr Bhawna Sharma, the new Chairperson of the centre is a Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering, Government College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu. She graduated from PEC, Pondicherry and did post-graduation in engineering from BITS Pilani. She has done PhD in Computer Science and IT from University of Jammu. She is also a Fellow of The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, New Delhi, Life Member of Computer Society of India, Mumbai and Life Member of Indian Science Congress, Kolkata. Prof. Bhawna is the youngest and first women Chairperson of the IEI in the UT of J&K.
SachinTickoo, the new Secretary has graduated from Government College of Engineering and Technology Jammu and is also MBA from University of Pune. He joined Power Development Department of J&K in 2009 and presently serving as Assistant Engineer. He is also the youngest Secretary of IEI in the UT of J&K.
CP Sharma, Secretary of the centre conducted the proceedings and delivered the vote of thanks.
