SAMBA, Nov 2: SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, held a meeting with the officers of District Police Samba/ CID/ Army/BSF/CRPF/ITBP/ Intelligence Bureau and other sister agencies at Conference Hall, DPO Samba to discuss the forthcoming challenges in the coming days.
At the outset of the meeting, SSP Samba highlighted the various challenges to come up in the coming Winter along the International Border (IB) including cross border infiltration, digging of tunnels and drone dropping of arms/narcotics. SSP stressed upon all the participants for effective and coordinated efforts of all the sister agencies to meet out any eventuality and to thwart the nefarious designs of Anti National Elements (ANEs).
The participants apprised the meeting about the current security scenario in their area of responsibility. During the meeting, inputs/feedback was shared and discussed in length. In the meeting, emphasis was laid on more synergy among the police and security forces deployed in the district and measures to be taken to strengthen border security grid.
The participants were asked to activate all their resources available with them to generate actionable intelligence and urged for regular mock exercises in the border areas/ strategic locations as deterrence against evil designs of the miscreants as well as to build confidence among the people of the areas.
SSP Samba directed all the in charge Border Police Posts to conduct the verification and census of the inhabitants of border areas living in close proximity of International Border in their respective jurisdictional areas. SSP further directed all supervisory officers/SHOs/IC PPs/IC BPPs for better coordination and regular informal meetings with the concerned security agencies. They were further directed to strengthen Nakas on NHW as well as on Border roads in addition to establishment of joint Nakas at selected places in view of present security scenario.
They were also advised to remain extra-vigilant to avert any untoward incident.
At the conclusion, SSP Samba thanked all the officers to attend the meeting and later lunch was also hosted for all the participants.
