Four drug peddlers arrested with poppy straw

RAMBAN, Nov 3: Banihal and Ramban Police arrested four drug peddlers and recovered poppy straw from their possession.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Banihal during checking at T-Chowk intercepted a Swift car bearing Registration Number JK02 AT-9093.
During checking, police team recovered 24 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver along with his associate.
The arrested persons were identified as Raj Kumar, son of Om Prakash and Pintu Kumar, son of Swarn Lal, both residents of Poipur, Suchetgarh Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Ramban while patrolling intercepted two persons, who were moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 8 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of these persons and arrested them.
The accused were identified as Ghulam Nabi Rather, son of Abdullah Rather of Near Bus Stand, District Ramban and Rajinder Singh, son of Amar Chand of Soligam, District Ramban.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Police Stations Banihal and Ramban and investigation started.
The arrests were made under the supervision of SHO Banihal Inspector Afzal Wani and SHO Ramban Inspector Sandeep Charak under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Nissar Khoja, DySP Headquarters Ramban Pardeep Singh Sen and SP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
