JAMMU, Nov 5: A delegation of J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA), led by Provincial President Dr Shashi Pal Singh, called on Director School Education Jammu, Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma and submitted him a memorandum of demands.
While taking up issue of transfers in School Education Department, Shashi Pal Singh demanded immediate transfer of all those Masters and Teachers who have completed their stay in schools of far-flung areas. He said that many Masters and Teachers serving in difficult areas for the past more than six years have not been included in Annual Transfer Drive held in 2021 as well as in 2022.
Dr Shashi Pal Singh also demanded conducting of Departmental Promotion Committee’s meeting in favour of all employees of SED, especially teachers who have not been promoted since February 2014 and are likely to retire soon. He also appealed the Director to complete the process of regularisation, grant of Senior Teachers Scales to undergraduate teachers, transfer policy for Grade-II and Grade-III teachers, especially for female teachers and filling up of vacant posts of teachers.
Director School Education assured positive action on all the demands at the earliest. The delegation comprised of Parbhat Singh, Ram Dass, Dr Rakesh Kumar, Chaman Lal and Hans Raj Shastri.
